Player shops have been released as an addition to the Grand Exchange, and Edgeville bank PvP world style PKing has been added! The phoenix firemaking pet has also made its way into BattleScape, and RuneLite has been updated to the latest version.

    Player Owned Shops

The Grand Exchange has received an overhaul, bringing in a new system for buying and selling items on top of the existing exchange system. In the top left corner of the interface you'll find an options button with player shops. You'll be given the following options: lookup username, lookup buy offers, lookup sell offers, and random usernames.

Looking up a username will pull open the shop interface, displaying their buy and sell offers. From here, you can buy directly from their shop or sell specifically to that player.

Using the lookup buy or sell offers will bring up the item search. From there, you can select the item you want and you'll be given a list of selectable usernames with how many of the item they're selling and for how much.

Finally, you can lookup random usernames which will give you a list of 20 shops and how much items that shop has. You can use this as a way to check out random items on the market.

The history tab can now display 20 items from the previous 10, bringing it inline with OSRS. The 8 slots available have also been opened up to F2P to allow for more items into the exchange.

    Edgeville PvP

Speaking to the Mage of Zamorak will give you an option to teleport to a PvP world style Edgeville (the teleport will take you into the bank). Like a PvP world, outside of the bank is the wilderness and there is a combat level difference of 15 everywhere for attacking other players. There is a 10 second PJ delay, and players can't interrupt combat even if your opponent isn't attacking you back.

    Phoenix - Firemaking Pet

The phoenix pet can now be unlocked through the firemaking skill. The higher level log you burn, the greater the chance you have at receiving the pet. Using logs on an existing fire won't affect your chances at getting the pet.

We should be trying to encourage actual PKing, not PvM hunting people going to KBD. We need some sort of fundamental change to encourage PKing.

PvP Looting System like it was without Free-Trade. Have items go into a Pool and have users get crappy to good loot per kill. Use Bounty Risk, higher risk = higher chance of rare loot.

I don't understand why you keep weighing in on this when you have never PK'ed and don't understand anything about the history of the wilderness or PvP on RS

Here's a video you might find interesting:

The important part is at 7:35 - 8:52. I'll transcribe everything said in the video in that time frame in case you don't want to watch it, but it's somewhat of an interesting video.

"In early 2011, hope was rekindled. The wilderness was returned in all it's splender. The PvP clan world celebrated the prospect of a brighter future, and yet, despite it's return, the wilderness brought little life back into the clan world."

"It was then that we realized, something had changed. Jagex had spent too many years tending to skillers. When the wilderness was returned to Gielinor, it fell into redundancy. For no longer was there any reason to venture there. Why fight the King Black Dragon these days? Why risk one's life to mine for coal?

This was once the complex chain of the wilderness; a chain of predators and prey dancing in splendid ritual of life and death. It began with a resource. Skillers harvested the resource. Solo PKers hunted the skillers. Small teams hunted the solo PKers. Larger teams preyed on the smaller ones, and finally, large clans fought the teams and each other.
