The mode would have a surge of popularity on release; but would most likely die like hardmode did.
Again it is all up to whoever wants to take the journey of playing this mode. It is obviously not for everyone. If you did manage to get around to this, you'd need to add ring of life, and ring of life effect on the defense cape aswell.
